About Barbara

Born in Chicago, IL, I attended the University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana earning a BFA in Graphic Design. After a stint as Sphere Magazine's art director, I started a graphic design firm, Perception, Inc. in downtown Chicago. My partner and I specialized in corporate graphics and package design. As an entrepreneur, I became more interested in business management and marketing, went back to school.  I graduated from the University of Chicago Executive MBA Program after moving into the catalog industry at Spiegel Catalog. Catalog positions included Director of Catalogue for Crate & Barrel, General Manager Good Catalog & Gifts.com and General Manager of Product Sales for Better Homes & Gardens Magazine among others.  I left the corporate world, chose Sarasota as my new home and made real estate my third career in 2004. My creative background, involvement in the home furnishings industry and corporate marketing experience help me provide a high level of service to my customers. I received the Coldwell Banker International Sterling Society Award in 2013, 2019, 2020 and the Five Star Realtor Award for customer service in 2021 and 2022. I am Benefit Chair for "Rays of Light, Service for Sight" benefitting Southeastern Guide Dogs and Lighthouse Vision Loss Education Center.
